either May 20th or June 9th
Mountain Play in Marin
Hello to all,
I’d love for you to join me in one of my favorite Mill Valley events…the Mountain Play. This year they’re doing Hair. While the productions are certainly not Broadway quality, they are darn good and a whole lot of fun. Besides, the setting cannot be matched!
For more information you can go to their website: www.mountainplay.org
Tickets are $ 32.50 in advance and $ 35 at the entrance. Please let me know if you’re interested in going and if so, what date/s work for you:
Sunday, May 20th
OR
Saturday, June 9th
RSVP by May 3rd:
Once I have replies, I’ll figure out which of the dates work for the most people and then send a follow up email with the date and whether we qualify for a group discount. If we have 10 or more people, we would qualify for a group discount of $2 off each ticket. If so, I’ll go buy the tickets since the discount tickets cannot be purchased on-line.
For those of you who haven’t joined me in this event before, here’s what happens:
I hike up the mountain early in the morning to reserve seats with some respite from the sun [those of you who have been there know that there are very few seats shaded by trees and if you don't have a spot with some shade, the sun can be oppressive. Don't worry, all "ye" sun worshippers, there's plenty of sun for you].
You take the free shuttle up the mountain around 11 or 11:30 so that we can all share a picnic lunch before the show. We all bring something to share with whatever number of people are coming. There are several shuttle spots, please check the website for the one that’s most convenient for you.
The production starts at 1 p.m. and is usually over by 3 p.m.
You can either hike down the mountain with the group or take the shuttle. Typically, we stop at the Mountain Home for a drink and to take in the view on our way down the mountain.
It’s a full afternoon, and everyone’s on their merry way by around 5:30 or so.
Sure hope you can join in the fun!
Best regards,
Jacqui

Computer History Museum Presents:
MAY 15
A rare opportunity to hear candid and personal insights from information age visionary and industry analyst pioneer Gideon Gartner
For 30 years, IT industry analysts have held sway as global intermediaries between technologists and media, governments, universities and investors. Yet, they are also fundamentally tethered to the evolution of technology.
An entrepreneur and CEO, Gideon Gartner founded and built three information technology and investment research companies, and is best known as leader of Gartner Inc. which at over $1 billion in revenue is the world’s leading IT Advisory firm. His other companies were Soundview Technology (sold to Schwab) and GIGA Information Group (sold to Forrester Research). The premise for each of his firms was a radical departure from then-current practice. Gartner holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from M.I.T. and M.I.T.’s Sloan School of Management, respectively. After schooling, Gartner worked for System Development Corp. (SDC), IBM, and Oppenheimer & Co., where he was voted in the principal poll of financial institutions (Institutional Investor Magazine) as the leading individual computer industry analyst, for six consecutive years.
Join us as we present industry analyst marketplace pioneer Gideon Gartner, in conversation with venture capitalist Neill Brownstein, for an evening of candid and personal insights on the rise of IT industry analysts.
